I give this place 4 stars for the food, but 2 for the service/employees. I love the food here. The bagels, cream cheese, sandwiches, everything is great and consistent. To save money, I usually get the special with 6 bagels and a tub of smear and then make my own sandwiches at home, which is much cheaper than paying 7 or 8 dollars for one in the store. However, the service here is erratic. To be fair, they have had some really wonderful, friendly employees who knew my order when I walked in and were always helpful. But they have a high turnover rate and most of their employees are rude or sometimes just crazy. I have seriously seen a few of the employees yell at customers and give them attitude because they asked a question about the price of a bagel. One time I asked for a pickle with my sandwich, and this apparently irritated the woman who was preparing it because she turned around and said angrily, "Ain't got no pickles!" How about trying to be polite and at least saying "sorry, ain't got no pickles" or "ain't got no pickles, would you like something else"? Not ALL of the employees are like this, but several are and I just never know what kind of experience I'm going to have in there. I don't know how this place has managed to find so many rude employees but they really need to train them regarding proper customer service before they start working. So, I highly recommend the bagels here, just be careful not to anger the employees by asking a question or trying to communicate with them in any way.

For years, the chain bagel spot on Alton Road has had its ups and downs. I have seen the good and bad and currently it is doing so well. Dora, the manager is so kind and always makes sure your order is right and looking great. All the friendly staff are ready to work and smile while doing so. The bagels are always fresh and plentiful and the coffee is amazing. I love the vanilla hazelnut or the neighborhood blend. They also have sweet treats like the pumpkin white chocolate cookie that is out of this world.

The guy supervisor on duty was completely overwhelmed the minute I walked in the door. I spotted under the sign that said "order here." However, there was people standing everywhere waiting to be helped.. Then a line started forming over where out said "pay here" A younger african american lady with glasses yells at everyone " if you need to order, stand over there, you are not going to get service standing infront of the counter." Then as I move over to the "pay here" line as instructed, this other Spanish lady working behind the counter addresses me as, " Mama! What do you want??!!" Excuse me, I'm not your "mama", I'm a customer. Are you kidding me!?! This place needs more employees to support a busy weekend and Serious employment TRAINING!! I do not recommend this place!! RUN!!

I recently stopped by Einstein on my way to work to pick up a bagel bucket (13 bagels & 2 tubs of cream cheese) for my co-workers. I was lucky enough to find a metered spot right outside. And despite being packed to the hilt, I managed to get my bagel box (including deciding what bagels I wanted and getting them sliced), and be back in my car well before the quarter I put in my meter expired! Go Einstein's!!! Plus, everyone in my office was ecstatic when they heard I brought Einstein's bagels! Further support for Einstein's being my go-to bagel shop.

Sunday morning bagel and juice are a great combination. They have a new lemon/blueberry bagel that is really good and I had it as a sandwich with spinach, cheese and asparagus. Tasted super! There coffee is just OK so I order juice and or water. The prices are comparable to other bagel/ coffee shops. You can't go wrong.

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience at all here. Moving from Aventura where we have bagel shops everywhere, I was excited to see a bagel place near my new south beach pad. However on the second time I had it, myh coworker and I got small soups with a bagel. As I ate my soup I notice something weird in it, after I pulled it out it was a tiny roach!! yes roach!! My coworker and I immediately stopped eating put it in the bag and she went back to complain. Not only were they no apologetic, they were hesitent in giving us our money back. I'm sorry but to me that is totally disgusting and will def. stop me from ever eating there again.

If you are not looking for a classic New York bagel, then try Einstein Bros. My favorite is the six cheese as well as the jalapeno cheese. Better yet, have a Asiago bagel toasted with a thick layer of cream cheese and get the hot out of the oven un-toasted six cheese on the side to use up your extra cream cheese. These bagels are great for the office and their bakers dozen includes two tubs of cream cheese. Their coffee bar includes unlimited refills and I thought their Vanilla Hazelnut was better than the Big S. In the mornings, it's a local hangout or drop in joint for the Miami Beach fireman, paramedics and the regulars from nearby high rises. For parking, the only option is the meters. I've never seen anyone get ticketed but I always feed the meter.

They never get my order right, never. Food is acceptable once you finally get what you ordered. Staff is clueless. Coffee isn't bad though, basic but good that way.

Long lines. Food okay. Extremely busy, and too noisy for me. Food is as good as other Einstein's locations.

This is the worst Einstein's I've ever been to. The staff is lazy and doesn't care about service. I waited a few minutes in the "order here" line and despite there being 4 people behind the counter, nobody helped me. Wihen I went to the woman under the "pay here" sign to ask if I could order, all she did was give me a smug look and point to the sign hanging above her. I ordered the Lox sandwich and when it arrived, the tomato was half red & half green. I took a bite out of it and it turned out to be in the process of thawing. disgusting! don't come here, just suck. it up and go to McDonald's or make your own Bagel at home. This place is the worst breakfast experience I've had.

The best, bar none. Go with the flow.....park, get in line, order your fav beverage and bagel combo. Enjoy all of the above with buds at a simple formica counter top table. Gorge, then go. Prices are very reasonable and parking is ample street side or in a private lot, across the street. Gone once.......go often! Mazzel tof (spelling, sorry).

I don't know what made me go into the Einstein on Alton Rd considering I've had egg sandwhiches that were 100 times better than what I'd ever had here before.... but well, that just might have been the last time I go in there. The only way I'd eat from this Einstein is if someone brings it to me. The place is totally dirty... no clean tables... and all the chairs look like a hurricane came through and ransacked the place. The girl got my name wrong (she called me sophia) which is something that ALWAYS happens, but she blamed the poor guy who took my order for writing it wrong which isn't true because he asked me how to spell it and I saw him type it in! Siobhan does not equal Sophia. haha

Excellent stuffed bagels and better coffee than Starbucks. What's not to like! The place closes early (latest 4pm) - they haven't yet adapted to the South Beach lifestyle it seems. After moving to Miami I was surprised I wasn't heard about this franchise - but it turns out that in Northern California, the parent company (New World Restaurant Group) operates other chain there - Noah Bagels! Ok, enough with the corporate world excitement...

Not the cheapest place on the beach but not bad. What I like most about this place is weekday mornings. The visit is well worth the getting up 15 minutes early to stop by and have a quiet breakfast by the windows. The service is nice and polite, the order process is simple, go to the counter, order get your coffee and have a seat, they will yell out when your food is ready. By the front door you will always find teh news papers people have left behind for you to read, and as an added bonus the comics are almost always there. The quality of food is better than Dunkin or starbucks, but the coffee is weak. That said I love very strong truck stop coffee (ala Tim Hortens). I suggest you go with the toasted assiago bagle with egg, chedder, and bacon. The place is nice and clean, the bath rooms are well kept, and if you avoid weekend mornings you will have a pleasent enviornment. They do sell bagles to go in large numbers, and the selections are in stock every time I walk in. I say head over and grab food here in the morning, but if it is just coffee, go else where.

Soup, schmoop. Had the broccoli cheddar this weekend and it was like straight-up ballpark nacho cheese with a few bits of broccoli drowning in it. Bleh. Stick to the bagels & schmear!

Been going there for the better part of 10 years. I have seen the business decay to the point where, because of this morning expierence, I will not be returning. It was 5:59, 5:59 mind you, raining and windy. I went to the door to find it locked and an employee leaning aganist the glass display counter talking on her cell. She finally held up 6 fingers I guess to let me know that they don't open till six and continued with her conversation. The number of totally unacceptable experiences over the last year finally brings this 10 year relationship to an end. I guess its one of the other local fast foods from now on...

If you get lucky to stop in here when Dora is working, your experience will be A+. The coffee is great! I have eaten the thintastic bagels there and they are yummy without all that extra bread like a "normal" super huge bagel. I love that they carry packages of smoked salmon...delicious! You can ask them to chop up some fresh cucumber and tomato slices to add to your bagel. Lots of different flavor cream cheese available. Nice atmosphere and always clean.

Staff was awful. Ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel. When it came out finally, only half of the bagel had seeds and whatnot. "I knocked off the seeds when I put it in the toaster" is what I was told. I'm paying $6 for what is already a mediocre looking and tasting sandwich, you could have at least just switched the bagel out, you clod. In addition, the premises was pretty filthy. It looked like the floor had not been swept + mopped in ages. There was a dime in the jar of dog treats. The coffee station was a disaster. The little signs on top of the coffee dispensers had spaces to write in what time the coffee was brewed. They were all left blank. I can only assume that they've been sitting for hours. Upsetting, because I was fairly excited to finally try Einsten Bros. Never again.

Great coffee. The bagel sandwiches are good, they don't manage to hear the filling when they toast them. Overall though, not a bad place to start your morning because the staff are always friendly & chirpy and the coffee is pretty damn good!

What a mess. This whole place needs to be cleaned and re-done inside, including with the staff that works here, no one knows what the f is going on and looks confused as s*it , except the young black guy. His the only one behind the counter that's working making bagels and coffee, the old Spanish lady looks so confused and just mops around back and forth behind the counter not doing anything. She's gotta go. This place needs a major makeover.

I LOVE Einstein Bagels and it is my go to bagel joint, but this particular franchise gives the brand a bad name. I have been to this location a handful of times and the establishment is old and run down. They need to update their tables and chairs as well as their countertop that their coffee is displayed on. There were also a few flys hanging around the coffee. Gross... The food was mediocre at best. I always order the Nova Lox and they give you one small slice of nova, two red onion slices, one tomato and 5 capers. Really??! It is the worst presentation I have ever seen. My boyfriend ordered a breakfast sandwich one two occasions and both times the lettuce was wilted. If you do decide to go here get something simple like a bagel with cream cheese. I don't see how they could mess this up.

I'm not sure why there are such bad reviews the place is great. The bagels are fresh, warm and tasty and they have a variety of different cream cheese spreads to suit your mood. The staff was very helpful and nice when we visited. They were out of the spread I wanted and he was very helpful in recommending something I might like and after we sat down, he even checked in with us to see how I liked my food and it was delicious :)

Dora Martinez, store manager, and her team are great! The team is a pleasure to see in the morning to brighten your day. Everyone has a great attitude and works efficiently during the morning rush. The bagels are always fresh and the coffee is the best in town.

This was the worst experience in a long. I live this chain, but this location needs new management. About 20 customers patiently waiting for a bagel for 30+ minutes. One guy working and yelling that it's not his fault. Everyone agreed and asked manager lady to help him. She refused and said we needed to be more patient, as she was busy in back with a catering order. The poor guy said the manager should be helping and said the top manager "Paul" does not staff correctly. I suggest Paul gets his act together or he will lose good people.

Great place both for early morning coffee and bagels and for lunch. Staff is always friendly and cheerful. Bagels are fresh-baked daily. I read some of the reviews about uncleanliness and surly staff earlier this year. Management must have taken notice, because I haven't experienced either of these. One note: because they supply many hotels in the area, things can get hectic for the staff early in the morning. Even though they appear sometimes overwhelmed (tough when you have to get orders for hundreds of bagels exactly right...), they are always smiling and chatting with you, which makes the (slight) wait on those days bearable.

Not a bad spot although there were at least 10 people in line when I got there. I think the people behind me left because they didn't want to wait in line. It wasn't SO bad a wait...just educating. The turkey sausage, egg, cheese, and whole wheat bagel sandwich was decent and ok tasty. I wasn't expecting a NYC delicacy or anything. Their daily bottomless coffees are pretty good. There seem to be a lot of regulars that just camp out there. One of the other reviews was accurate...it does seem like a tornado blew through there. Very few clean tables, if there were any, they were full. Newspapers thrown everywhere. Where is your E=MC^2 Bagel pride?

Going to the beach, we stopped in for a quick breakfast. Parking can be tough, but we got lucky and found some metered parking right beside the store. This place is packed. Wait in line, order our bagels and juices. Service is slow and not friendly. When your food is ready they stand by the counter and call out what you ordered. Really quite dumb when they ask your name at the register. Why not call out the person's name??? What if two people ordered the same thing. We got our bagels and oh was not impressed at all. They were barely toasted and very chewy which made them hard to eat. The flavor was so lacking. Uh, for me not. I would much rather go to Au Bon, much better flavorful cooked bagels. These actually seemed like they were not cooked properly. Hey, as we sat there I felt like I was in Dunkin Donuts, some of Miami's finest police officers were hanging out in a very large group. No thanks, between the quality of their food, and service blah!!!

make sure you see the news ""Einstein Bros offers free bagels after Dirty Dining report""" Einstein Bros Bagels is offering free bagels to customers as an apology following Local 10's Dirty Dining report. According to state records, the Einstein Bros location at 1500 Alton Road was ordered shut on July 24 during a routine, unannounced inspection. An inspector with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation noted 18 violations. see news link local10.com/news/einstei…

1st I need to say that Einstein's makes the BEST pumpernickel bagel in the world. With that being said, I come here for a pumpernickel bagel and to surf the internet in the morning. My first morning I got my pumpernickel bagel but their internet was "down". The second morning they had no pumpernickel bagels OR internet. Come on guys....that's pretty bad! The place is clean although there is a big difference between the staff - in generalization the guys seem much more friendly than the women. The location's hours are pretty bad, they close very early every day especially on Sundays - no stopping by after work at this place! Get your act together guys and and turn on your wifi so I can come down and enjoy my bagel - and please don't run out of bagels at 10 a.m. either!

I recommend sticking to the bagels and cream cheese here. I've tried to get a breakfast sandwich a couple times (egg & cheese) and they are always soggy..... nothing says yuck like a soggy bagel. On the plus side I do like their cream cheese and they have a good variety of bagels. If you've never been to an Einstein, these are the giant fluffy bagels, not the dense kind. They taste good though. I do like the coffee they have. There are always a ton of people here & the line usually moves pretty quick.

I came here to take advantage of my free coupon for a small coffee. Unfortunately, the cream counter was filled with flies and one flew directly into my drink (the nasty bugger couldnt kill itself on the FLOOR like more considerate flies!). But the employee was kind enough to replace my free drink free of charge. Then I ordered an egg sandwich w/ a $2 off coupon, but it still came out to be $2.50 - for what is clearly a $1 worth sandwich.
